Between all the controversies Gemini has been facing lately, Google has found time to come up with a new ‘address’ for its AI chatbot. The tech giant has announced a new website “ai.com” for Gemimi. Well, technically, it’s a shortcut for the actual “gemini.google.com’ website.
As expected, visiting “ai.com” redirects to “gemimi.google.com and allows users to access the AI tool via any web browser.
‘ai.com’: A smart move by Google
Google has a history of owning easy-to-remember domain names for its services and apps. For instance, ‘doc.new’ is another domain for a new document on Google Docs; sheet.new redirects to Google Sheet’s new workspace.
Similarly, ‘ai.com’ is a new home for Google Gemini. Considering, AI has become a common terminology these days, having ‘ai.com’ as a domain seems like a smart move and to lure more users to its AI chatbot whenever someone is trying to do something related to AI chatbots. And, this works across all the platforms, including smartphones, tablets, etc.

That said, there’s no solid proof for now whether or not Google owns this domain. It is also possible that ai.com domain owner is using it to redirect users to different AI chatbots.
