SEATTLE— The Husky Beach Volleyball team closed their only fall home tournament by repeating as Gold Division champions. First-year Huskies Josie Ulrich and Lauren Wilcock bested their teammates Scarlett Dahl and Magdalena Rabitsch in the finals of the Gold Division to take the top stop. The Huskies have had a pairing of first-year Dawgs win the Gold Division each day of tournament.
The Beach Dawgs had another stellar morning of action of pool play, posting two Gold Division pool victories and an undefeated run by Dahl and Rabitsch. First-year Huskies Ulrich and Wilcock won their pool as well. Brooke Balue and Maia Nichols rounded out pool play with a 2-0 round in the Bronze Division, which had the score cap set to 28 instead of 21 points like the Silver and Gold Divisions.
The playoff rounds saw Maia Nichols and Brooke Balue win three straight matches before bowing out in the semi-finals of the Bronze Division, as the formatting switched from Saturday’s best-of-three series to first to 28 points. The Gold Division brought a sense of Déjà vu as the Huskies came out on top of the bracket as Ulrich and Wilcock bested their fellow Beach Dawgs.
