Interlift 2023: going up

Around 19,000 experts from over 110 countries joined 500 exhibitors in Augsburg, Germany, 17-20 October,  to find out about innovations and trends in the lift industry.  Organisers of the interlift 2023 show said that it has returned to the level of the pre-Corona era.

The managing directors of the organisers AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, said: “The Interlift 2023 was a great success. We are very pleased with the high level of satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors, who were able to achieve good business deals. There is already great excitement in anticipation of Interlift 2025.”

Show statistics from the organisers claimed 93% of the visitors surveyed gave the exhibitors’ range of products and services the marks ‘very good’ or ‘satisfactory’. Likewise 92% intend to visit the show again. Over two-thirds of those surveyed are involved in procurement decisions in a decisive or co-decisive way, a further 18% of the visitors are involved in investments at least in an advisory capacity, while 46% of the surveyed visitors came to prepare or secure an investment and 28% said they had already concluded deals at the fair.

In view of the crisis in the construction industry in (Western) Europe and also in China, assessments of future industry development are cautious: 58% of the visitors surveyed expect an increase in development in the next few years – in 2022 it was 67%. And 14% even expect a weakening of the development in the lift industry.

Achim Hütter, chairman of VFA-Interlift e.V., had many meetings during the four days of the show: “Despite the slump in new residential construction, the interlift 2023 was a super trade fair. We were able to have great technical discussions and the quality of the visitors was excellent.”

More than 120 exhibitors at interlift registered at the show for the follow-up event in Nuremberg in 2025 and collective stands from Italy, India and China have also already given their commitment for 2025 and in some cases announced an increase in exhibition space.

Interlift will be held in Nuremberg for the first time in 2025, 14-17 October.
