Even in the midst of fierce competition from various quarters, Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, is confidently pushing forward, firmly declaring its determination to maintain its impressive performance at the box office.

Following its remarkable achievement of earning Rs 150 crore in the domestic market over its debut weekend, Jailer managed to generate an estimated Rs 28 crore on the fifth day of its release, which was Monday, according to early estimates shared by industry tracker Sacnilk. Thus, the global box office revenue of Jailer will cross the Rs 350-crore mark on Independence Day.

The movie’s net earnings in India on Monday surpass those from Friday (Rs 25.75 crore), indicating a stable advancement in the trajectory of Jailer.

According to Sacnilk’s forecast, the Rajinikanth movie is expected to achieve domestic earnings of around Rs 38 crore on Tuesday, benefiting from the Independence Day holiday, which will contribute to its ongoing impressive performance.

The actioner also recorded an overall 63 per cent Tamil occupancy on Friday. While the film witnessed a 37.06 per cent occupancy in the Tamil market for morning shows, as the day progressed, the percentages steadily surged, reaching 59.03 per cent for afternoon shows, 72.84 per cent for evening shows, and an impressive 83.07 per cent for night shows.

Meanwhile, industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted that Rajinikanth’s Jailer made $180K in the US on August 14.

As per analyst group Aakashavaani, the film garnered an estimated sum of Rs 33.45 crore from the US in its opening weekend. Concurrently, it accumulated around Rs 23.4 crore from the UAE region. Jailer also registered earnings of Rs 9.15 crore from the remaining Gulf Cooperation Council nations, Rs 3 crore from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rs 5.55 crore from Australia, and Rs 68.2 lakh from New Zealand. The United Kingdom and Ireland together contributed Rs 7.68 crore, while Singapore provided Rs 6.78 crore. Furthermore, the film achieved Rs 17.01 crore from Malaysia, Rs 6.24 crore from Canada, and Rs 13 crore from Europe, Sri Lanka, and other territories.

Currently, the only significant contender that matches Jailer’s impressive box office success is Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which has already secured Rs 173.88 crore at the domestic box office and is poised to achieve a Rs 55-crore turnover on Independence Day, contributing to its cumulative India nett earnings of Rs 228.88 crore.

On Monday, Kamal Haasan also congratulated Rajinikanth and Nelson for Jailer’s success. He called both of them and spoke about the film’s performance and acceptance by the audience. Rajinikanth, meanwhile, is in the Himalayas and has not been a part of the film’s success celebrations. The actor visited Badrinath on August 12 where he offered prayers. On August 14th, he was photographed at Dwarahat, Uttarakhand.

According to figures shared by the Multiplex Association of India and the Producers Guild of India, the August 11-13 weekend has been the busiest weekend post-pandemic, with 2.10 crore admissions, which is also the highest combined admissions record in the last 10 years. Besides Jailer, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar together earned Rs 390 crore in the period.

Jailer has Rajinikanth essaying a man out to avenge the death of his cop son. The film has Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff in important cameos. The action-packed entertainer also stars Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan.
