Ahead of the much-awaited inauguration of the mega Ram Mandir scheduled on January 22, the devotion and enthusiasm of worshippers can be seen in the air. Not just through high-pitched arrangements ahead of the big day, but devotees are expressing their excitement in all sorts. The release of a new song titled ‘Jai Shree Ram’ which has been composed by Anu Malik for the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir is a testament to it.

Speaking about how the inauguration of the historic temple is personal to him, Anu Malik said, “Such an important milestone will be achieved in our country, the dream of having a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi is going to be realized due to the centuries-long movement of crores of Ram devotees and the efforts of our honourable leaders Modi-Yogi, so I felt the need to contribute my efforts in this historic dream. In such a situation, there was a discussion with some friends and this wonderful song came into being with the help of Vishnu Sharma and Divya Kumar. Anu Malik has composed the music for the song written by writer Vishnu Sharma, which has been sung by singer Divya Kumar and is released under the banner of Zee Music.

The story behind its formation

Songwriter Vishnu Sharma shares an interesting story behind this song, and how this song was composed within minutes in Delhi Metro. He narrated, “There was a song which was going viral already on social media but nobody could trace the makers of it. Looking at that, Anu Malik also wanted to compose a viral song for the occasion of Pran Pratistha. So, he composed the tune, and the song was also recorded, but according to the rules, the name of the writer of the song also had to be definite due to copyright issues. But despite all efforts, the name of the author could not be found. Anu sir then discussed the issue with me, and a solution was found that a new song should be given now and I was approached for that. While going to Constitution Club in Delhi, I parked my car at Vaishali metro station and wrote a new song with 4 stanzas on the same tune till Rajiv Chowk which took roughly 25 minutes. I then shared my lyrics with him and reworked them a bit on it. He liked it and got two more stanzas written on the same night. The next day the song was ready. We also tried to find out which was that viral song and who sang it, it became the inspiration for us to create something magical.”

This song which has crossed over 75,000 views in one day is going viral on social media. While it has already become a sensation on social media platforms, a few bands have already started bringing its remix version. Hundreds of comments from Ram devotees are being read on YouTube and Apple Music. Many people are surprised that even a Bollywood celebrity can compose a song on Ram Janmabhoomi. Only the audio version of this song of 5 minutes 39 seconds has been released. The songwriter Vishnu Sharma, who is the author of several books like Indira Files, has previously written songs and dialogues for the animation movie ‘Fourth Idiot’, in the jury of the International Film Festival Goa (IFFI).

In just one day of release, this song is reaching different parts of the country, and it is expected to reach millions shortly. The makers and the team behind its composition believe that it would not be a big deal if this song soon becomes the official anthem of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha.
