Kubbra Sait as Surpankha in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’: Latest Update |

Nitesh Tiwari‘s ‘Ramayana’ has been garnering a lot of buzz of late. While Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi are playing the lead roles, a lot of casting speculations have been doing the rounds.
Now, according to a new report in India Today, Kubbra Sait has auditioned for the role of Surpanakha, Ravana’s sister, in the movie. Kubbr, known for her impactful role in ‘Sacred Games’, has auditioned for the role of Ravana’s sister, Surpanakha. However, it remains uncertain whether she has been officially selected for the part. She is eagerly anticipating being a part of such an expensive franchise.

Kubbra is known for being associated with strong characters. Speaking about the same, she had earlier told ETimes, “I’ve been fortunate to have not been typecast in my roles on screen. My first movie was with Salman Khan, Ready, in which I played the role of a maid. After that, I played Cuckoo in Sacred Games. Now, I’m grateful people associate me with strong characters, and if that’s a stereotype, I will gladly take it in my stride.”

‘Ramayana’ will reportedly be released in mid-2025, with Ranbir Kapoor set to kick off filming for the movie in March 2024.
