Roads are getting busier around Greater Manchester as the region wakes up for the start of a new working week. Drivers are hitting the road ahead of rush hour.
The usual motorways, such as the M62, M60 and M61 are likely to be busy this morning. Main roads across the city centre are also expected to be congested.
Roads through other boroughs such as Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, Bury, Trafford and Salford will also be jammed through the rush-hour. We will be keeping an eye on the roads throughout today (Monday, October 16) on this blog.

- M61 southbound – 25-minute queues approaching M60
- M67 westbound – heavy traffic approaching Denton Island
- A57 – 10-minute queues on Hyde Road/Mottram Moor, Tameside
- A575/A572 – 10-minute queues near M60 J13 at Worsley
