RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Michael Gasaway grew up loving the theatre and was always inspired by the fabulous costumes parading around Nevada stages for years. He wanted to bring a touch of those fabulous stage looks to people’s everyday lives and that’s how he started designing Mychol Xander Bow Ties.
He stopped by Morning Break to share how he thinks dressing up in an amazing bow tie is not just for special occasions and formal events, but can be worn any time in order to make each day special.
Many of the Mychol Xander bow ties are created with innovative and luxurious fabrics sourced from New York and San Francisco. Gasaway hand embroiders and beads each tie with Swarovski and Preciosa Austrian crystals to create a one-of-a-kind accessory not usually found in traditional menswear.
His years of retail management has also created a deep love of visual merchandising and window displays. Every time he releases a new capsule collection of ties, he creates a window display and short video to celebrate the new collection.
His Holiday 23 window display was just honored in March’s VMSD magazine, which is an industry magazine for retail designers and visual display artists. His designs were included right next to Tiffany & Co. and Bergdorf Goodman.
