London has been named one of the best travel destinations in the world, beating popular cities including Rome, Paris and Crete. Tripadvisor has revealed the most sought-after spots across the globe in their first Travellers’ Choice Awards, and London has come out right at the top.
The capital city has been named the third most popular destination in the world for travellers in 2023, beaten only by Dubai and Bali. Amazingly, London has ranked higher than other places including Rome, Paris and Crete.
We’re not surprised, of course, because there’s so much on offer in London that makes it a great place to visit from anywhere in the world. There are the classic tourist spots of Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey, but there are also many other incredible aspects to our city that make it well deserving of its rank in Tripadvisor’s list.

London is a food-aficionado’s heaven, as it’s full of every type of cuisine you can think of. This is celebrated in London’s many food markets, including Borough Market, a city institution for hundreds of years.
There’s also some stunning parks and green spaces for those who want to get some fresh air within the city. Visit Hampstead Heath for gorgeous views out over London, or go for a walk through St James’ Park, right in the centre of London.
There is always something going on in London too. Book tickets to a West End show, or try a concert at the iconic O2 arena.
