McKeesport SWAT situation after man threatens to stab neighbors

Police and SWAT have surrounded a home in McKeesport for hours Tuesday after a man allegedly threatened to stab his neighbors and police. Sky 4 flew over the scene along Evans Avenue. Allegheny County SWAT personnel and several police officers could be seen responding to what McKeesport police Chief Mark Steele described as a man barricaded inside an apartment.Steele said the man in question had threatened to stab his neighbors. When police arrived, the man ran back inside his own home. Steele said he knocked on the man’s door. The man threatened to stab police if they tried to enter, at which point Allegheny County SWAT was called out.No one else is believed to be inside the apartment. Steele described this as a “mental health” situation.A representative for nearby UPMC McKeesport said the hospital is not under lockdown and is operating normally.Police continue to negotiate with the man to come out and surrender.
