Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Headliner this Thursday is Gerald Brann of Yellow Brick Road

The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series ’70s Night is tonight in Memorial Park. Sponsored by platinum sponsors DFT Communications and Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, special guests Gypsy Queen begins at 5:25 p.m. followed by headliner Yellow Brick Road – A Tribute to Elton John starting at 7:15 p.m.

The stage sponsor is National Grid along with Advanced Production Group as the production company.

Gypsy Queen is Western New York’s finest veteran musicians with members from PassionWorks, Reset to Vinyl, Acoustria, Out on the Tiles and Grand Illusion. They joined together to honor the music from Heart and Fleetwood Mac and their only goal is to bring their iconic music to life so everyone can enjoy it.

The band consists of Carolyn Daniels (vocals), Leah Pinnavaia (vocals), John Daniels (guitar, mandolin), John Caruso (bass, vocals), Tim O’Connell (drums), Chris Rizzo (keyboards) and Scott Helfrich (guitar, vocals).

There is no other performer who looks and sounds so much like Elton John, nor any tribute act that provides the experience of being at an Elton John concert the way headliner Gerald Brann and Yellow Brick Road do.

Brann not only bears an uncanny resemblance to the international superstar, complete with gap-toothed smile and many of his mannerisms, but recreates Elton John’s vocals and playing to a tee.

To capture the essence of the piano man, Brann dresses in replica costumes and wears Elton’s trademark outrageous glasses.

A trained jazz pianist, Brann has been a lifelong Elton John fan, and his admiration for and love of his music comes shining through as he plays one hit after another with remarkable likeness to the pop music icon.

Brann and his talented five-piece band evoke audience participation throughout the entire show–whether singing along to “Rocket Man” and “Your Song,” swaying to “Candle in the Wind,” or hopping and bopping to “Crocodile Rock.”

Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the beverage tent provided by Arthur R Gren Company and Southern Tier Brewing Co. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace will also be open.

The rained-out July 6 show is rescheduled with Sean Patrick McGraw on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 5:25 to 8:45 p.m.
