They are now looking into if there are survivors in Utah as well. Ivan Romo is accused of raping multiple people who all worked as prostitutes, according to a post from the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake. Romo was wanted for aggravated rape and is being described by police as a serial rape suspect. Many living at Casa de Lodi mobile estates say several trees and even parts of their properties have fallen over into the river after heavy rainstorms that raised the water levels in this area. The finance committee for the Board of Trustees voted to pass the tuition increase on Wednesday afternoon, and the full board passed the measure in a 15-5 vote. Under the proposal, tuition will increase 6% annually for the next five years. The plan would begin in the fall of 2024. Read more here.New positions approved to improve oversight of Sacramento Police Department | The Sacramento City Council approved 12 new positions with the goal of more oversight of the city’s police department. Six of the positions will be part of the city’s Office of Public Safety Accountability; four will be part of the police department and two will be in the city attorney’s office. City officials said the overall goal of all 12 new positions is to make sure officers follow best practices while protecting the public.
