A favorite of mine can admit to it flaws (like hard mode isn’t as hard and not much worth the effort to A ranking the entire cast, special stage controls is a bit jank, and you’re better off going to flight formation when you’re somewhat on bottomless pit territory.) but still love it nonetheless.
It’s not just classic stage looks and pacing, I say the entire music has that genesis feel good energy to tie it together, The Main menu DAWG! The banter each get their own variation depending on who and where the character is at on the stage; overly cheezy, charming. (the cheeze it’s at its best here. The games afterwards try and fail to copy it.)
But hey, to each to each their own.
