Motorcycle Dreams business owner hopes to rebuild after Isle of Wight warehouse fire

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) — Business owners have been severely impacted by last week’s warehouse fire in Isle of Wight. One business owner is now asking for help in rebuilding his dream.

Trevor Hawley started his business, Motorcycle Dreams, seven years ago. His operation took up around 3,700 square feet of the warehouse where he sells pre-1984 Harley Davidson and other motorcycle parts, sending out 40 to 50 orders each week. That inventory was all destroyed Thursday, Jan. 18, when his brother, who was at the warehouse, called him to warn him about the fire.

“I watched seven years of my business disappearing and there was nothing I could do,” said Hawley. “It was absolutely heartbreaking because it is such a huge part of my family’s income, it supported my brother and to see that being taken away so quickly where the was absolutely nothing I could do, was devastating.”

50,000 to 100,000 motorcycle parts are now lost. He is operating out of his garage for now, but hopes to find another space soon. His family has set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes that he can rebuild his inventory and begin again.
