New Fatalities shown off for playable Johnny Cage and Kameo Frost in Mortal Kombat 1 at Evo 2023

The pre-release build of Mortal Kombat 1 present at Evo 2023 has changed a few things up since the Online Stress Test build. In addition to Liu Kang, Kitana, Sub-Zero, and Kenshi, Li Mei and Johnny Cage have also been made playable. It’s also worth mentioning that Frost is available as a Kameo.

We know that each playable fighter will have two Fatalities at the launch of Mortal Kombat 1, but characters only appear to have one in the Evo build. Though we’ve already seen Li Mei’s Fatality, footage of Johnny Cage’s Fatality has surfaced on Twitter.

Johnny Cage’s Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1 appears to take inspiration from Cassie Cage’s Fatality from previous games. The Fatality initially looks more like a Friendship as Johnny Cage can be seen putting his arm over the opponent’s shoulders while pulling out a cell phone.

However, Johnny Cage then suddenly decides to smash the opponent’s face on a plaque with his name on it. After the opponent finds themselves without a face, Johnny then decides to take a selfie shot with them.

Kameo characters like Frost also have Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1. As one might expect, Frost’s Fatality first involves freezing the opponent. She specifically targets the opponent’s torso while doing this.

Once the opponent is properly frozen, she then proceeds to shatter the opponent’s torso. This ends up removing all the blood and flesh from the opponent’s torso, cleanly leaving only a skeleton. Check it all out below:
