Drivers have been asked to avoid the Ormeau Embankment in south Belfast as the road is currently blocked following a crash. Emergency services are at the scene.

Road users are also advised that the M2 southbound is down to one lane after a road traffic collision near the Templepatrick services.

Please exercise caution and allow extra time for your journeys.

Both incidents occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

The Old Mart area of Martinstown in Ballymena has now also fully reopened following a one-vehicle collision on Wednesday evening.

Earlier today, motorists were advised that the Collin Road in Ballyclare was closed in both directions between Church Road and Braepark Road due to a serious road traffic collision too.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area as emergency services attended the scene.

Meanwhile, the Westlink was blocked northbound on Wednesday morning due to a broken down lorry. The vehicle broke down in lane two near the Divis offslip, with queues stretching back as far as the Stockman’s Lane / Kennedy Way exit. Motorists were advised to seek an alternative route. The broken down vehicle was cleared around 12 noon.

On Tuesday evening, there were long delays on the M2 leaving Belfast following a multi-vehicle crash near the Mallusk junction.

Police and other emergency services attended the scene. It’s believed up to 10 vehicles were involved in the collision. Cars involved began to be moved as of 5.27pm, but traffic had been reduced down to one lane.
