Upon officers’ arrival, the front gate had been unlocked.Once inside, they made contact with an individual that was living at the business. The person living at the business advised the police that there were two other people in the building who were not supposed to be there.Officers continued to search the building and located two unauthorized people in the building, one of them being David DeLuca and another individual.The other person was detained but not arrested.Keep up with the latest news and weather by downloading the WXII app here.After questioning them, it was discovered that it was an arranged breaking and entering, and a former employee who was fired, Michael Sturgill, gave him his building keys to DeLuca.DeLuca also used the other individual to assist with the crime.The key that was used for entry was located in DeLuca’s pocket.He then confessed to his crimes.The stolen items, which included electronics and a leather jacket, were returned in usable condition.DeLuca was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking & entering. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, High Point police responded to 1670 W English Road in reference to a breaking and entering in progress.
Upon officers’ arrival, the front gate had been unlocked.
Once inside, they made contact with an individual that was living at the business.
The person living at the business advised the police that there were two other people in the building who were not supposed to be there.
Officers continued to search the building and located two unauthorized people in the building, one of them being David DeLuca and another individual.
The other person was detained but not arrested.
