North Carolina Department of Transportation preparing roads for winter weather

You may have seen them on Friday. Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation have begun salting and bringing the road for the possibility of snow or ice.John Rhyne with NCDOT said crews began work as early as 4 a.m. on Friday. He reminded drivers to drive slowly and cautiously. He also said if you happen to see crews on the road, to give them plenty of space.►Check road conditions, travel alerts, traffic camerasNCDOT doesn’t expect the storm to be worse than expected, but if things take a turn, they’ll be prepared.Rhyne said, “We’ve got around 115-120 pieces of state equipment to bring in if the event is worse than the forecast.
