Haik, Calla Bruno, Summer Bruno and Ella Faubert placed second at the state meet in the 4×400 meter relay.

Pellegrino is a strong thrower — finishing first in the shotput and third in the discus — last year at the freshman championship meet.

Peloquin — one of the standouts over the winter on the girls basketball team — is one notable newcomer.

Another thing that stands out is the large turnout fromr the freshman class.

Westerly will look to be competitive in Southern Division dual meets and in the Class B meet.

Coach’s take: “We’re just working to get better everyday.”
