The anguish of it all. Irish fans emptied from the boulevards of broken dreams in Paris today, withdrawing their wounded after an epic yet unsuccessful assault against New Zealand.
They included the thousands who hadn’t actually been in the stadium, but who had watched in the fan zones instead.
