Television actress Ankita Lokhande’s father Shashikant Lokhande passed away on Saturday, August 12. He reportedly had a protracted illness and has not been feeling well for the past two months. His last rites were performed today. The actress bid her father final goodbye along with her grieving mother Vandana, brother Arpan, and husband Vicky Jain.

TV actress Ankita Lokhande ‘s father Shashikant Lokhande passed away on August 12, Saturday at the age of 68. He was reportedly suffering from a prolonged illness and had not been in the best of health for the previous two months. His cause of death has not yet been made public. The actress said her final goodbyes to her father today at his last rites. She was joined by her grieving mother Vandana, brother Arpan, and husband Vicky Jain. Ankita’s friends from the industry like Shraddha Arya, Nandish Sandhu and more joined the Lokhandes as they mourned their loss.

Ankita is seen getting emotional and breaking down in tears at her father’s last rites. The actress’ mother Vandana Phadnis is seen consoling her grieving daughter who looks devastated. Take a look at the video here:

Ankita’s bond with her father

Ankita Lokhande’s father was a banker by profession. Ankita was very emotionally connected to her father and she often penned sweet noted for her dad on social media. Previously, on Father’s Day, the actress posted a sweet photo and a lengthy message to her father on Instagram on the special occasion. She wrote,” Happy Father’s Day to my first hero, my dad. I have watched you struggle for many things when I was a child, but you have always made sure that your children don’t. You have always given me my wings to fly and have forced me to become whatever I have wanted to be. I am what I am because of your strength and support.”

She continued to describe her story by stating that her father helped her when she needed money to pay her rent in Mumbai. In the post, she also made reference to her father’s condition and stated, “I have seen u struggling with your health but ur strong will what I saw that time was something else and ur smiling face during that period kept all of us going. I’m very very proud to be your daughter.. love u paa forever and ever and ever.”

Additionally, she appeared in the television programs Ek Thhi Naayka and Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
