Sir David Jason health update as he pulls out of Only Fools and Horses event

A TV legend has been forced to pull out of an upcoming Only Fools and Horses event due to his health. Sir David Jason played Derek Trotter in the BBC One show, and in October 2023 he was due to take part in the ‘Meet Sir David Jason Convention” in Milton Keynes.

However, the star has had to reschedule the event until 2024. The sitcom actor has been advised that he needs a “new bionic body part fitted”.

The event has been organised by The Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society, who took to Facebook on Saturday, August 12 to confirm Sir David must undergo a procedure, however, they did not specify what it was, reports My London.

The Appreciation Society also shared a statement from Sir David who apologised for disappointing Only Fools and Horses fans. The humourous statement read: “I am so very sorry for the disappointment and all the inconvenience it may cause but we are having to change the date for the forthcoming Only Fools and Horses Convention.”

He added: “Unfortunately, I have just been advised I need to have a new bionic body part fitted (I won’t tell you which part it is, or you will all want one!) and don’t worry it’s not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it’ll be the pukka gear. I really hope everyone will be able to make the new date (January 13th and 14th )and we can all have something cushty to look forward to!

“These events are such an enjoyable celebration for myself and the rest of the Only Fools cast, and it is such a privilege to meet so many of you, but I want to do it with the smile on my face I always have had.” Sir David signed off the statement by saying: “Once again, please accept my sincere apologies as it was not a decision I took at all lightly and I hope that you understand my situation.
