Special Weather Statement issued for HRM and most of southern Nova Scotia

Environment Canada says a line of thunderstorms will travel from Maine to Nova Scotia Sunday night into Monday morning.  The national weather service says rainfall amounts in the 20-45 mm range are possible with this system, with the highest amount of rain expected within embedded thunderstorms.

Frequent lightning is also associated with this system, and Environment Canada says they may issue watches or warnings if required.

HRM issued a hfxALERT Sunday evening asking residents to use caution on roads damaged by previous flooding and to be on the lookout for soft shoulders.

Residents are being reminded that when thunder roars, go indoors.
