The Syed Modi India international badminton championship world tour Super 300 kicked off today in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. Organised by the UP badminton association under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India, the prestigious tournament will be held from today to December 3. Top shuttlers like PV Sandhu, HS Prannoy, and Lakshya Sen have withdrawn themselves from the tournament on the basis of injury and now all eyes will be on Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth along with other players.

Inaugurating the event, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said that after 2014 on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi sports activities have gained a new momentum in the ‘New India’. He said that the positive attitude of the central and state governments towards sports has become a new platform for our players also.

After giving impetus to the Khelo India campaign government started the Fit India movement to promote sports at the rural level MP sports competitions were started whose results are visible to all of us in the entire country.
