Tammy is forecast to reach hurricane strength this weekend as it tracks towards the northern Leeward Islands.If Tammy reaches hurricane strength, it would be the seventh hurricane so far during the 2023 season.After passing by the Leeward Islands, Tammy is forecast to turn north and eventually northeast. The storm will stay far away from the Southeast Coast of the U.S.The area of interest in the Caribbean has a low 20% chance of development over the next 7 days.
