This is when Xiaomi, Motorola, Realme and other brands will launch new smartphones with Qualcomm’s latest chipset

Qualcomm’s latest chipset — Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is here. The chip comes as the toned-down version of the flagship — Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 — purportedly aimed at powering premium smartphones.

The chip maker has already confirmed that several smartphone brands, including Xiaomi, iQoo, Realme, Redmi, Xiaomi and Honor will launch their phones based on this new chip in the coming months.

Alongside the chip announcement, William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, President of the International Business Department, GM of Xiaomi Brand has confirmed that they will be the first to adopt the newly-announced mobile chip platform by Qualcomm.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Qualcomm Technologies to introduce the first device powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 – coming soon,” said William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, President of the International Business Department, GM of Xiaomi Brand. “This new mobile platform will allow us to provide our customers with a personalized premium experience, all thanks to generative AI.”

However, the official press note does not specify the model name or any other details about the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered smartphone from Xiaomi. We expect more details to start surfacing soon.

If you are unaware, it is not the first time that Xiaomi has confirmed a new smartphone based on a Qualcomm’s newly-announced chipset. During the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – and even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – Xiaomi was the first brand to confirm its new smartphone based on the latest chipset.
