Piyush Goyal To Meet Tesla CEO Musk In The US

Piyush Goyal, the Commerce annd Industry Minister is scheduled to meet with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, in the United States next week to discuss the advancement of the US carmaker’s entry into the South Asian market, according to sources familiar with the plans, news agency Reuters has reported. The talks between Musk and Goyal are said to focus on Tesla’s intentions to establish an Indian factory, produce a $24,000 car in the country, procure additional components and set up a nationwide charging infrastructure, one of the sources was quoted as saying by the report.

OnePlus Open Becomes Highest-Selling Foldable In India on Day 1 Of Sale

OnePlus’ maiden foldable device, the OnePlus Open, witnessed strong sales across multiple channels on its release day, making it the top-selling foldable smartphone on the first day of sale, the company announced on Wednesday. OnePlus Open claimed the title of the highest-selling foldable smartphone on the initial sale day at Reliance Digital, said a report by IANS. Moreover, OnePlus Open established itself as the best-selling foldable smartphone in the over Rs 1 lakh price segment on e-commerce site Amazon.in during its open sale day.

Amazon Olympus AI To Take On OpenAI, Microsoft Soon 

As per a report by The Information, retail giant Amazon is developing a new conversational AI software to rival OpenAI and Microsoft by offering the technology to corporate clients. The upcoming sizeable language model, internally dubbed ‘Olympus’, is expected to boost not only Amazon’s online retail platform but also strengthen features in the Alexa voice assistant across devices such as the Echo and support Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Worldwide EV Battery Sales Up 54 per Cent H1 Of 2023

The global EV battery sales increased 54 per cent in the first half (H1) of this year to reach over 300 gigawatt (GWh), a new report showed. Chinese battery player CATL led the EV battery market, with BYD and LG Energy Solutions trailing by some distance. Chinese battery suppliers held nearly two-thirds of the EV battery market as Tesla, BYD and Volkswagen installed nearly 45 per cent of total EV batteries in H1 2023, says Counterpoint Research.

Short Video Platforms Have 25 Crore Users In India: Report

A report on Thursday revealed that India has hit 25 crore or 250 million users on short-form video platforms, with approximately 70 per cent hailing from tier-2 cities, semi-urban, and rural areas of the country. According to a report by Redseer Strategy Consultants, the users of short-video platforms predominantly belong to middle and high-income backgrounds. Additionally, around 64 per cent of the user base on these platforms in the country consists of individuals under 25 years of age.
