Tracking more heavy rain across Houston tonight through Wednesday

Tuesday Morning Commute:

A break from widespread rain is here for a good chunk of the area. We’re seeing scattered showers but not the heavy rainfall on Monday moving across the region through most of the morning drive. Rain totals today will likely be 1-2″ centered around our western and northern counties.

More Heavy Rain Coming:

We’re under the influence of a strong Pacific jet stream that is helping to amplify our heavy rain chances through Wednesday.

Rainfall totals have added up to 2 -3 inches north and west of Houston. Houston and cities to the east picked up slightly over an inch of rain.

Several inches of rain across SE Texas

Tuesday rain focused mainly north of I-10. Wednesday is the last wave of heavy rain, returning to more widespread coverage.

Flood threat continues Tuesday

Models are suggesting some areas could see anywhere from 3-7 inches of rain Monday through Wednesday. Flooding issues will be minor, generally low-lying areas and feeder roads.

10-Day forecast

We are warmer this week, but heavy rain is possible through Wednesday. Shower chances linger through the end of the week. While they back off, we’ll see a shot of cooler air also move in as we head into the weekend, but it comes with sunshine.
