Traffic and travel: Seven-vehicle crash on Dublin’s M50 cleared as commuters face delays on Tuesday morning

There are delays on the M50 this morning following a number of crashes, including a seven-vehicle collision.

The incident happened on the M50 at Junction 9 – Red Cow in the southbound direction early on Tuesday morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade and emergency services are at the scene of the seven-vehicle road traffic collision and the vehicles have been moved to the hard shoulder and the lanes previously impacted have all reopened. Motorists can expect delays on the M50 and M1, though.

There has also been another collision on the M50 at Junction 12 – Firhouse in the southbound direction and the third lane is currently affected.

A breakdown on the M1 is also affecting the flow of traffic into the capital this morning.

Irish Rail have also advised commuters travelling to Dublin that the 5.15 service from Westport to Heuston in operating approximately 20 minutes delayed due to a technical issue.
