Weekend disruption due to heavy rains and train faults will impact some routes from and to Inverness.

TRAIN journeys between Inverness and Aberdeen are set to be disrupted with one Elgin service cancelled.

The 1.30pm Inverness to Elgin service has been cancelled due to an earlier train fault, as well as the 2.25pm Elgin to Inverness train.

ScotRail also announced on its website that speed restriction because of heavy rain earlier today between Stonehaven and Laurencekirk customers travelling between Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness are to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Although speed restrictions have been lifted, they said disruption to services may still be ongoing until staff and trains are back in position and is expected to last until 1pm.
