The Kamehameha Schools Maui girls volleyball team took over sole possession of first place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I standings after sweeping past Lahainaluna 25-11, 25-6, 25-18 on Thursday night at Kaulaheanuiokamoku Gym in Pukalani.
The Warriors improved to 9-1, going a half-game in front of Baldwin (8-1). The teams split their previous two meetings this season — they face off again on the final day of the regular season, Oct. 17 at KSM.
The Lunas fell to 0-9.
At King Kekaulike, Na Alii rallied to beat Maui High in five sets, 25-15, 17-25, 18-25, 25-22, 18-16.
