There is an important reason behind the increasing demand for the Computer Science and Information Technology branch. Many students, who completed their studies from these branches, have got hefty packages from different companies. According to the data available currently, the students are no longer interested in pursuing civil and mechanical engineering courses. Demand for computer science engineering is witnessing an upward trend because of the advancements in data science, big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Based on the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Mains exam marks, 24,000 students have been admitted to the colleges affiliated with AKTU in UP. Two rounds of counselling have also been completed. AKTU Vice Chancellor has expressed concern over the increasing number of admissions in only the said two branches. He said that necessary steps are being taken to solve this issue. He added that the increasing admissions will no longer remain limited to the CS and IT branches; other core branches will also see admissions in future.
