PV Sindhu, a two-time Asian Games medallist, will take the court today. The 28-year-old Indian badminton ace will headline India’s push for a women’s team medal, which kicks off today. 

Alongside Ashwini Ponnappa, PV Sindhu bagged the last women’s team Asian Games medal, a bronze in 2014 Incheon. 

The men’s 10m air pistol and skeet team shooters will set their sights on increasing the medal tally. Hriday Chheda and Anush Agarwalla, meanwhile, can make it a double in the equestrian dressage event.

Naorem Roshibina Devi has an opportunity to win India’s first-ever wushu gold medal at the Asian Games. The 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist will contest in the women’s 60kg final on Thursday.

Led by Sunil Chhetri, the Indian men’s football team is set to play Saudi Arabia in the round of 16.

The Indian men’s hockey team, too, will play today against reigning champions Japan. Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni, who are assured a medal in tennis, will feature in the men’s doubles semi-final.

In boxing, Jaismine Lamboria, Deepak Bhoria and Nishant Dev will fight in their round of 16 bouts. Gymnast Pranati Nayak will showcase her skills in the women’s vault final.

Bridge, track cycling, golf, squash, swimming and table tennis will also see Indian players in the fray at Hangzhou.
