Leaders of MUSC Health – Catawba Division have named Rachael Drake as the new chief nursing officer (CNO) for the division, which includes the Lancaster and Chester medical centers.
“I am thrilled to announce that Rachael Drake has been named CNO for the MUSC Health Catawba Division. In this role, Rachael will provide nursing leadership for each MUSC Health hospital in Lancaster and Chester and our future Indian Land location,” said Scott Broome, CEO of MUSC Health – Catawba Division.

Drake comes to MUSC Health from Prisma Health Hillcrest Hospital in Simpsonville, where she served as associate chief nurse executive and CNO. Prior to that, she served as nursing manager and administrative nursing supervisor for several health systems, including the former Greenville Hospital System in Simpsonville and Pelham Medical Center in Greer.
Drake received a master’s degree in nursing from Gardner University in Boiling Springs, N.C., and is a doctor of nursing practice student at the University of South Carolina. She is a board-certified nurse executive and an Amy V. Cockcroft leadership fellow.
Drake joined MUSC Health in October to begin her new role.
