High fat, low carb and protein in moderation – this is keto diet for you. It was a popular one this year. Many dieticians put their clients on this diet to burn fat quickly. It basically triggers a process of ketosis, which basically means the body starts burning fat for energy. Some of the common keto diet foods are avocados, eggs, cheese and nuts.

This diet mainly includes fiber-rich plant foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. It is not to suggest that one following this diet doesn’t include animal products like meat at all. It’s just that the amount consumed is way less in comparison to plant-based food items. It is said this diet helps in giving a fillip to one’s immune system and achieving weight management.

This diet involves a mix of plant-based food and healthy fats. With a focus on consuming vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts and olive oil, this diet trend is known to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems.
